cliffs of Moher rise some 800 feet (244 mtrs.)
from the Atlantic ocean and because of the
indenting coast line, offers a dramatic and
memorable spectacle whenever visited.

On the edge of
the Burren
The name
Burren comes from the Irish 'boireann'
meaning 'rocky place'. The Burren is in north-west
County Clare, bounded on the west by the Atlantic
and to the north by the waters of Galway Bay.

importance, both to Ireland and the
